Introduction
We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our home. The Howes has 3 en-suite bedrooms. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour tohelp.
Pre-Arrival
- There is a bus stop approx 10 mins walk away with a very frequent bus service
- The main train station is 15 mins away by car
- We have a website with photographs of each guest room which are all on the ground floor

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
- There is ample private off road car parking to the front of the house
- Assistance with luggage is available
- We are situated close to the village in a quiet cul-de-sac 5 mins walk from the village centre
Main Entrance & Reception
- The entrance into the hallway has a small step 12 cm high
- Guests are escorted to rooms and facilities explained
Public Areas - General (Internal)
All public areas have short pile carpets are well lit - emergency lighting when necessary - and are tastefully decorated
Public Areas - WC
Guest bedrooms are all en-suite and are all on the ground floor
Restaurant / Dining Room
- Breakfast is served in your own room. Breakfast tables are 71cm high, under space of 67cm with a centre pedestal. Both chairs are without arms and can be moved to accommodate guests
- Special diets are catered for on request
Laundry
Drying is available on request
Outdoor Facilities
We offer breakfast in the garden on the terrace on sunny days which is accessed by steps accompanied by a hand rail. The garden is steep and not appropriate for people with walking difficulties. There are 2 benches at the front of the house where a cup of tea can be taken and walking boots changed
Bedrooms
- All 3 bedrooms are on the ground floor and have televisions with remote controls, hospitality trays, radio alarms and hairdryers.
- Table and chairs for breakfast as described.
- There is a bell in the hallway tocall for assistance.
- Guests have a room key and front door key.
- A telephone is available for guest use on request
- ROOM No 1 can be a twin or super-king bedded room. Door width 73.5cm
- ROOM No 2 has a king-sized bed. Door width 74cm
- ROOM No 3 has a double bed. Door width 74cm
- The house has gas central heating and all rooms and shower rooms have radiators with individual thermostat controls
- All rooms are spacious with good access from both sides of beds. All have fitted wardrobes. Room No 3 has a separate dressing area
- All rooms have short pile carpets
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]
- All rooms have en-suite shower rooms
- Shower cubicle in Room 1 has a step 16cm high. Room 2 shower cubicle step 22cm high and Room 3 cubicle step 30cm high. All wash hand basins have rounded fronts and are 76cms high. All toilets are 46cm high with free space toeach side. Complementary shower gel and hand wash are provided. All shower rooms have short pile carpets. Rooms 1 & 2 are suitable for wheel chair users
Grounds and Gardens
The Howes has a large garden at the rear. It is terraced with a large rock garden and extensive grassed area behind. There is a gate at the rear of the garden with access to Ambleside village. There is garden furniture for guest use. The garden access is by steps with a handrail. Not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

Cancellation Policy
Please note that once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made up to 10 days before your booking you will not be liable for the total balance.
For cancellations made after this time or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling, you will be liable for the total amount of accommodation booked.
For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.
